Treat Facial & Oral Injuries

YJ OMS Dental Implants & Oral Surgery is uniquely qualified to treat facial injuries and understands the severe physical and emotional damage facial injuries can cause. Our hands-on surgical training and experiences allow us to restore both the function and appearance of your face or mouth after an injury. If you’re concerned about treating facial trauma‌, you can trust Dr. Jun to provide an incredible restoration process every step of the way.

Facial trauma injuries cause serious long-term damage if not treated immediately. Our surgical team will see you as soon as possible to treat your facial trauma injury, in most cases the same day you call. Dr. Jun is on staff at local hospitals to treat emergency facial trauma patients, and he understands the urgency required when treating facial injuries.

Types of Facial Injuries

Car accidents, sports injuries, falls, and other mishaps can all cause facial trauma injuries. Oral surgeons treat the following types of facial injuries:

  • Facial lacerations
  • Broken or knocked-out teeth
  • Cuts inside the mouth (intraoral lacerations)
  • Fractured facial bones (eye socket, cheekbone, nose, etc.)
  • Fractured or dislocated jaws

If you experience any of these injuries, we can provide you with the attentive care that you need.

Treating a Facial Injury

The bones, muscles, and other structures of the face all work together to perform daily functions like smiling and eating. Oral surgeons are trained to restore this delicate balance, while also preserving the aesthetics of the face after a facial trauma injury. Our offices are equipped with advanced 3D Scanning technology to track your progress throughout treatment, and we offer anesthesia options to keep you as comfortable as possible during any procedure.

Soft Tissue Injuries

Depending on the severity, most facial cuts are treated by suturing. We will suture your injury in a manner that produces the most aesthetically pleasing cosmetic results. Dr. Jun can also ensure that any injuries to surrounding structures, like facial nerves or glands, are recognized and treated appropriately.

Facial Bone Fractures

Most of the time, fractures must be stabilized to allow for proper healing. We’ll surgically implant medical-grade wires, plates, or screws to hold facial bones in place while they heal. Dr. Jun is an expert in performing facial surgeries in the least invasive manner possible, and can strategically place incisions to achieve the most attractive results.

Tooth and Mouth Injuries

The sooner a tooth is brought to a dental professional, the better the chances of saving the tooth. If your tooth is knocked out, place it in some whole milk and bring it to the office as soon as possible. Do not try to clean the tooth, as you can damage the tissues attached to the tooth root that hold the tooth in place.

Types of Anesthesia

We offer a variety of anesthetic options to make your experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The method of sedation used depends on your preference, the nature of the procedure, and your medical history.
